    Shelbi Petty
    Licensed Veterinary Technician, Hospital Manager

    Shelbi was born and raised in Southern California. She now lives in Gardnerville with her husband, Zach, and their dog, Rye. Shelbi received her degree in Veterinary Technology in Los Angeles, CA and has worked in the veterinary industry for over 10 years. She has worked for several equine practices, and loves being a part of the Great Basin team. In her free time she enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, camping, and riding motorcycles.

    Wendy Wyatt
    Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Wendy is a native of Eureka, Nevada.  She obtained her associate's degree of veterinary technology from Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyoming and received her license at College of Southern Nevada.  Wendy has worked for several equine practices including Desert Pines Equine Medical & Surgical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada and Weatherford Equine in Weatherford, Texas.   Her professional interests include anesthesia, intensive care nursing, and wound management.  In her free time, Wendy is an amazing photographer and enjoys mixed martial arts and hiking with her dogs, Dally and Sadie.

    Matt Tremayne
    Veterinary Assistant

    Matt was born in Burley Idaho and grew up in Austin, Nevada. He currently lives in Woodfords with his wife, Teola, and his two boys, Trenton and Christian. Matt enjoys being out in the wide open space of central Nevada. He enjoys riding horses, his dirt bike, hunting, and playing guitar while his wife sings. He is enjoying being a part of the Great Basin family!

    Jessica Balaam
    Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Jess grew up in Yerington, Nevada then attended Yuba College in Marysville, CA and received an AS in Veterinary Technology. Jess has extensive training in equine anesthesia and has worked all over as an anesthesia technician, including Dubai and South Africa. She even worked a stint in small animal medicine before making her way back to large animal when joining the Great Basin and Comstock Equine teams. 

    Her professional interests are anesthesia and emergency/critical care.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Gideon, their American Bully, Louie and Dogo Argentino, Lola, hiking, cycling, running and drawing.
